About DianeWorship leader and songwriter from San Diego, California, Diane Luna has a genuine heart and a poignant passion to worship God. Her debut album Rock Everlasting, with it’s laid back style, is best described as a modern worship album with a folk-rock vibe. Diane heads up the worship arts ministry at her local home church where her husband, John, is pastor. She also spends time leading worship at various churches and ministries.
A Little History
Adopted as a tiny baby, Diane was raised in a loving home. “I had the best parents a kid could ever ask for. Who knows where I might have ended up had I not been adopted! When I was little our family was part of a growing church called Calvary Chapel, located in Costa Mesa, CA. Mom and dad were so excited about their church, and even more so they were excited about Jesus. Later we moved away, but mom and dad always taught us the bible.
I can remember committing my life to Jesus at an early age but as I grew up I chased endless carrots: peer pressure, parties, drugs, guys, money, career… all of which were empty prizes that left my heart in an unquenchable death. I can vividly recall this ‘aha’ moment, when I realized how fruitless the things were that I was doing, and remembered how much God loves me. Only He can satisfy hearts and save souls by His forgiveness of sin through the death and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ. In that instant I packed up my life, ran straight into the bible and back to church. And now, standing next to my hubby, with two kids and a guitar in tow... I’ll tell as many people about God’s love as are willing to listen. And I might play a song or two while I’m at it!” (mom, dad, my brother, little me, and our dog named Candy)
I am standing in the light of the one I will not fear, I will not run Let Jesus name be lifted high When the darkness comes There is safety in the arms of the son - Lyrics from the song Safety in the Arms, from the upcoming album... |
